The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA), Amaravati, has invited online applications from experienced professionals for two environmental and sustainability positions in its Environmental and Social Management Unit (ESMU).

1. Director (Environment), ESM Unit

Educational qualifications and experience
Applicants should possess:
A master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology or a related discipline.
A PhD in an environment-related discipline is desirable.
At least 15 years of experience in environmental management of infrastructure projects, preferably involving large-scale urban development.
Experience with World Bank, Asian Development Bank or equivalent international environmental safeguard frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects.
Key responsibilities
The selected professional will lead the Environmental Unit within ESMU and provide strategic direction for integrating environmental sustainability into APCRDA policies, plans and projects. Responsibilities include developing the Environmental Management Framework, ensuring regulatory compliance, supervising environmental assessments and management plans, coordinating statutory clearances, conducting stakeholder consultations, monitoring environmental performance and preparing quarterly and annual reports.
The Director will also coordinate with government departments, consultants, communities and NGOs. A vehicle facility will be provided for attending official duties.
2. Senior Specialist/Engineer (Environment Management/Sustainability), ESM Unit

Contract period: One year

Educational qualifications and experience
Applicants should possess:
A bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
A master’s degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
Certification as an energy auditor from the Bureau of Energy Efficiency.
Green-building certification such as EDGE, IGBC, LEED or GRIHA.
At least eight years of relevant professional experience.
Candidates should have experience in sustainable development, energy efficiency, climate-change mitigation and adaptation, renewable energy, greenhouse-gas accounting, carbon financing, climate-resilient urban infrastructure and city-level climate-action planning.
Knowledge of sustainability tools, carbon-footprint calculators, energy-management software, EDGE Rating, green-building standards and energy-conservation codes is also expected.
Key responsibilities
The selected candidate will support APCRDA’s journey towards carbon neutrality through greenhouse-gas accounting, energy-efficiency measures, renewable-energy systems and sustainable urban-development practices.
Responsibilities include preparing sustainability guidelines, supporting compliance with the Energy Conservation Building Code, conducting energy audits, promoting solar rooftops and district-cooling solutions, developing GHG inventories, undertaking climate-risk assessments and preparing implementation-monitoring reports.
