Gender equality is an issue that has been fought for over decades. It is clearly evident that for the longest time, women were denied basic rights. In the present day, the condition seems to have improved but not totally. Moreover, even today, both men and women have to face inequality. During job interviews, preference is given to men. Furthermore, a woman may be more qualified than a man; despite this, a man will be hired. This bias is a failure of the society as a whole. Additionally, sometimes women are also deprived of new opportunities that could enhance their careers, but again, men are favored over equally capable women. It is important for every organisation to have a set of rules and procedures regarding gender equality for every employee. Consequently, required action must be taken against the individual who is seen treating someone indifferently because of their gender. Similarly, the promotion of an employee should not depend on their gender but on their skills and their ability to generate prosperity and harmony in a company. Likewise, new employees and interns should be taught about gender equality so that every worker feels comfortable, empowered, and encouraged. Workplaces must strive for inclusivity by promoting merit-based opportunities and eliminating the gender bias.
