The Balance Between Tradition and Modernity in Today’s Society

 Tradition and modernity are two concepts that reside in our society with harmony. Traditions are a set of practices which are being followed and practiced to preserve the culture. Modernity is a contemporary way of life which refers to keeping up with the new trends and changes in the society. It could be related to dressing up a certain way or following a new trend. Both tradition and modernity go hand in hand but sometimes there are clashes too. At times people who are traditionally very rooted, find modern people uncultured or someone who has no values. This type of judgement is absolutely baseless as one shouldn’t be judging a person’s character based on what their life choices are. Sometimes, people inclined towards modernity judge people rooted in tradition are often perceived as overly modest or conservative and simple, which is also wrong. Everyone has the right to follow whatever principles and paths that suit them. Such concepts shape society and provide valuable lessons for the younger generation. There should be a balance between both, as that is what can keep the society intact.
