The Importance of Gender Equality in Today’s World

 Gender inequality has been a major concern for years. We all know about how women had to face discrimination only because of their gender. They were denied the right to vote, hold jobs or pursue education, among other rights. In today’s world especially in the urban areas, gender inequality has reduced. However, in many rural areas there’s still a lot of bias towards men, and women face a lot of trouble. In a country like India, women are treated like goddesses, yet they are made to feel neglected. Raising awareness regarding gender equality is a must. Education for the same must be given in schools to educate children on such social issues from a young age. Strict action should be taken against people who discriminate people on the basis of their gender. If the new generation is taught about such societal issues from a young age, then only they will be able to transform the mindset of the upcoming generations. Being told to behave and work a certain way should not be subjected to the gender of that person. Sexism should not be tolerated and promoted by anyone. Together we all can make the world a better place for everyone if we change ourselves and our outlook towards the common issues of the community. We all must do our part to curb such problems.
