In today’s world plastic pollution has become a global issue. Plastic is non-biodegradable which means that it does not decompose into the soil. It remains in the environment for years causing soil pollution. Plastic is widely used that its absence is almost unimaginable. Plastic is used for almost everything at present. It is used for everything, from carrying dairy products to making furniture. There are steps that can be taken to reduce plastic consumption. Instead of plastic bags, cloth or jute bags should be used as they are reusable. Eco-bricks can be made by stuffing soft plastics into empty bottles, and further these bottles can be used for construction purposes. Moreover, plastic containers should be reused or permanently replaced with steel jars. Plastic that cannot be reused should be given to organisations that recycle and repurpose it. Awareness campaigns and initiatives should be conducted to raise awareness regarding plastic pollution. These collective measures can significantly reduce the harmful impact of plastic pollution. It is our responsibility to contribute to reducing reliance on plastic to protect our planet and animals.
