Technology has become a very important tool in our lives. It is as necessary as essential as food, water or shelter. Surviving in today’s world without digital tools is difficult, and that’s why our reliance on them is justified. We use technology for something as small as making a payment or chatting with someone. For some people it’s also a source of income, this highlights the extent of our dependence. Though digital platforms keep us connected, with the acceleration of digital world, we humans are increasingly becoming isolated. We all must have seen people hooked onto their phones for hours. Each and everything can be done with internet and apps. Due to this, our need to socialise and our dependency on offline services have reduced, for example self driving cars. We all would have noticed that our fingers reach for our phones every few minutes, this is a proof of how addicted we have gotten to technology. It is important to limit our excessive urge to reach for digital devices every few minutes in order to protect ourselves . Mental health cases have risen sharply in the past few years, and many of them are being caused by technological advances. In conclusion, if we view it virtually, technology is connecting us but in real life it is making us more isolated.
